| Time: | 10:00 AM |
| Details: |
On the morning of Tuesday April 28th we’re planning to visit the Wave Fibre Mill in Sequin Township by the Parry Sound Municipal Airport. Wave Fibre Mill proudly partners with small Canadian farms to process their wool and offer high-quality, locally made products. They specialize in processing locally sourced wool, transforming raw fleece into luxurious, ready-to-use yarn and other fibre products. On the tour we’ll follow the journey of animal fibre from raw fleece to finished garments. 100% Ontario wool is woven from a variety of yarns spun at the mill, without the use of dyes or harsh chemicals, then taken to the weaving and knitting department where it’s made into blankets, shawls, scarves, throws, coverlets and select fabrics. For more info check out their website: wavefibremill.com We will also have the opportunity to participate in a felted craft activity and make a small felted article to take home with us. Next if you wish you can join us for an order off the menu lunch at “Wings Café” at the nearby airport. The cost of the tour is $10 and the felted craft activity is another $10. If you’re still feeling energetic you could continue on into Parry Sound and stop by the Bearly Used Book Store where you’ll find over 5,000 square feet of used books. You can even bring your old books to trade in for a credit towards some newer, old books. Tickets will be on sale at our March and April meetings.
